Tracy’s Letters from France: The Louvre

One of the finest museums in the world, there is no place quite like the Louvre. What more is there more to say? Extra words simply “gild the lily,” as my dad would say.

So with a few family photos, I send this love letter to this remarkable place of peace, serenity and majesty.

Years ago, our good friend from McDonogh, John Hedeman, said that when he and his wife, Ann D., went to Paris, he would visit the Louvre at least once a week during their months long stays. Three years later he said, “I still had seen but a fraction of the treasures that were on exhibit in those hallowed halls!” If three years of visits is not enough, three hours is just a pittance.

May we have more trips to the Louvre in the future!
