France: Bull & Bike

Across France, there were a few themes that kept resurfacing, showing up in some of the least expected places. Like the finding of a Paperclip by Tracy, while she is thinking deeply about something important in her life. The paperclips show up as a tap on the shoulder by the divine, reminding us that we are still in the world and of the world, but we are not alone.

For our trip from the north to the south (and east to west) of the Gaulic districts, there were the repeating themes of bulls and bikes. Some images were stopping me in my tracks. The BULLS were everything from live animals (cows, elephants, or other large animals) and skulls of antlered male heads. The bikes were, well you know, BIKES, yet in some usual and other quite unusual places. I have captured some of these images with my camera, though there were thousands more that did not capture in time to take a photo. With all of the bulls, you would have thought that we were in Spain. The bikes? Well, they are everywhere these days. Even on the lapel of one of our Oregonian Congressmen.
