Tales from the Camino: Signs
All along “The Way” there are signs telling the peregrinos where they are, what to look for, where they are going, and where to stay. Many of the signs are helpful, others are scary. In any case the signs are powerful and evocative. The statues along the way are equally powerful and are shared in another edition of Tales of the Camino.
This collection of signs is not comprehensive, but gives the reader a taste for what is out there in northern Spain for the pilgrims to use as signs of mortal matters: food, lodging, clothes, stores, directions, etc. As to the spiritual matters, the three+ churches per village fill the gaps and try to bring the itinerant pilgrims into the holy fold.
