One Skillet Wonder: Ahi Tuna

Trader Joe’s has some of the best chopped vegetables I have ever found. They are fresh and delightful in salads or just about any meal. They are particularly handy in the one skillet way.

Ingredients:

Ahi tuna steaks, 1/4 pound per person

Chopped vegetables: carrots, peas, celery, cabbage, onions, etc.

Sliced broccoli florets

Sliced zucchini

Butter – 3 slices

Olive oil – 3 table spoons

Old Bay seasoning – 2 table spoons

Garlic salt – to taste

Directions:

Cook all of the butter and vegetables in the skillet at a medium high temperature, searing the vegetables until they are tender

Add oil and increase the temperature to high

Add the tuna, placing it directly on the skillet, smother with the vegetables

Turn the tuna after about 3 minutes, again exposing the tuna to the hot skillet

The vegetables should steam around the tuna as it cooks.

Remove from the skillet and put on a plate, serve while hot
